Celebrating Our APDT Citizen Science Poster Award

In October, Julia Morton and I were busy preparing our poster presentation for the Association of Professional Dog Trainers conference. We were excited that our proposal had been accepted for the first-ever round of research posters in the citizen science category.

Well guess what? We won 2nd prize! It was a thrill to see our poster listed in the APDT Foundation newsletter today.

During the presentations we had fun watching participants use the rating tool we developed, available for free PDF download through Rover and Chubby, and were reassured when their scores were right in line with our own.

We encourage you to use this tool the next time you’re about to hit the share button. You’ll be surprised how many infographics fall below par. And if you decide to modify the rating tool be sure to let us know! We’re excited to see people use and improve upon our work.

The highlight was speaking with the many judges. Without a doubt, the best questions and biggest belly laughs were with Clive Wynne who was left pondering which one of us was Chubby. 😉

Of course the prize money will feed right back into the next educational event, being the learning junkies that we are!
